Justin Herbert's offensive line just got beefier.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed guard Mekhi Becton, the team announced on Friday. Contract details were not disclosed.
Becton, 25, started 19 games with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles last season, aiding an offensive line that propelled running back Saquon Barkley to a 2,000-yard rushing campaign.
The six-foot-seven, 363-pound Becton was originally a first-round pick, 11th overall, of the New York Jets in 2020. Known as "Big Ticket," he spent four seasons in the Meadowlands before moving onto the Eagles last year.
Herbert, the Chargers' starting quarterback, was sacked 41 times in 17 games last season, the seventh-most leaguewide.
Los Angeles has also added running back Najee Harris and re-signed pass rusher Khalil Mack this off-season.
