Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton exited Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team after suffering a hit to the head.
Dalton was sliding at the end of a scramble — a play that does not require a defender to complete a tackle — and Washington linebacker Jon Bostic left his feet to connect on a shoulder-to-helmet hit.
Bostic was penalized with a personal foul and ejected from the game.
Dalton’s helmet came off and he laid on the ground while trainers came out to assist. The team brought a cart on the field, too. He left the game, but the team has not yet provided an update on his status.
Two weeks ago, Dalton took over as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback after Dak Prescott sustained a gruesome ankle injury. With Dalton out, rookie seventh-rounder Ben DiNucci entered the game in his NFL debut.
