First place in the NFC East will be on the line late on Thursday afternoon when the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Football Team as slim 3-point favourites on the Week 12 NFL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Sporting identical 3-7 straight-up records, Dallas and Washington join the New York Giants in a three-way tie for second place in the NFC East standings going into Thursday afternoon’s matchup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
With Philadelphia sporting a 3-6-1 SU record and a razor-thin lead atop the division standings, whichever team emerges victorious in this Thanksgiving Day clash will move past the Eagles into sole possession of first place.
Washington tallied a decisive 25-3 home win over the Cowboys last month, but has lost four straight in Dallas, falling to defeat by an average margin of 17 points in those contests, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. However, the Cowboys have gone a middling 5-6 SU in their past 11 home games. Dallas has also lost outright in two of its past three when favoured by three or fewer points at home, and is 6-14 ATS in its past 20 as small home chalk.
The NFL’s Thanksgiving Day schedule kicks off early, with the Houston Texans visiting the Detroit Lions as 3-point favourites at sports betting sites, while Thursday night’s matchup has the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Baltimore Ravens as increasing 5-point chalk.
The Texans have shown signs of a turnaround after a dismal start, posting SU wins in two of their past three outings to improve to 3-7 SU on the season. However, two of their three wins this season have come against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In addition, the Texans have claimed an ATS win when favoured by three or fewer points on the road just once since 2015.
The Lions are coming off a 20-0 loss in Carolina last weekend, and are currently enduring a 3-12 SU run at home. The Lions have surrendered an average of 39.3 points while going 0-3 SU and ATS in their past three home dates as small underdogs, and are also winless SU in their past three Thanksgiving Day matchups.
The Steelers kept their hopes of a perfect season alive with a 27-3 win in Jacksonville last weekend that lifted their unblemished SU record to 10-0. Conversely, the Ravens find their playoff hopes at risk after losing outright in three of their past four, a run that began with a 28-24 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 8. Baltimore has also been a risky wager this season, going 2-5-1 ATS in its past eight games overall, but is 7-1 ATS in its past eight as a road underdog.
