The Miami Dolphins will open the season without their top pass-rushing threat.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters on Monday that linebacker Bradley Chubb will be placed on the physically unable to perform list, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN. That means he'll be ineligible for the first four games.
Chubb suffered a torn ACL in the Dolphins' penultimate game last season. He had 11 sacks and matched a league best with six forced fumbles on the year in his first full season with Miami.
The Dolphins acquired Chubb from the Denver Broncos before the 2022 trade deadline and then signed him to a five-year, $110-million extension.
Picked fifth overall by the Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft, Chubb is a two-time Pro Bowler.
McDaniel also said offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and linebacker Cameron Goode will start the season on the PUP list.
The Dolphins host the Jacksonville Jaguars in their season opener on Sept. 8.
