The Philadelphia Eagles are sticking with their Super Bowl-winning head coach for the long haul.
On Monday, the team announced that they've agreed on a multi-year extension with head coach Nick Sirianni.
The team did not announce the financial terms or length of the deal.
Sirianni was set to enter the final year of his contract after signing a five-year deal to join the team ahead of the 2021 season.
"As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success," Philadelphia Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement put out by the team. "Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership. Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago.
"His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles."
The Eagles are coming off a blowout 40-23 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, lifting the franchise to its second championship win in the Super Bowl era.
Since joining the team in 2021, Sirianni has coached the Eagles to a 48-20 record in the regular season, along with a 6-3 post-season record with two Super Bowl appearances. They've reached the playoffs in all four years that he's been with the team. His 54 total wins are the second-most in NFL history for a coach in his first four seasons, behind only George Seifert of the San Francisco 49ers from 1989 to 1992.
Sirianni, who turns 44 next month, is the first coach in NFL history to earn four playoff appearances, two conference titles, and a Super Bowl within his first four seasons as head coach.
"Everything that I had hoped for with Nick, he embodies," Lurie said in April. “Whether it’s connection, intelligence in so many ways, from football intelligence, emotional intelligence, managing of people, hiring of assistant coaches, growth mindset at all times. These are all the things that we embody, appreciate and are a big contributor to the culture we have. So everything that I had hoped for early on, identifying Nick as the next head coach has come to pass and great to work with and he has a growth mindset, he’ll get better.”
Prior to joining the Eagles, Sirianni spent three years with the Indianapolis Colts as the team's offensive coordinator and was a positional and assistant coach in the NFL for nine years before that, spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.
The Eagles will open the 2025 season on Sept. 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.
