The New York Jets have signed Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Que. native Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to the active roster, the NFL team announced Wednesday.
The 31-year-old offensive lineman has yet to suit up in 2022 after signing with the Jets last month and being placed on the practice squad He played in eight games with the Jets last season.
The co-winner of the 2020 Canadian athlete of the year award stepped away from football at the beginning of the season while he worked on a medical residency at a hospital in Montreal.
Duvernay-Tardif spent the first five years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning the Super Bowl in 2019.
