Colin Kaepernick and Ben & Jerry's announced their partnership for a new ice cream flavour on Thursday that honours Kaepernick's activism for racial justice.

The flavour, Change the Whirled, is inspired by the former NFL quarterback's mission to end police violence and dismantle systems of oppression. All of Kaepernick's proceeds will be donated to his organization Know Your Rights Camp, a cause that empowers Black and Brown youth to become the next generation of change leaders.

Change the Whirled is non-dairy and certified vegan to match Kaepernick's diet. The flavour has a caramel frozen dessert base with fudge chips, graham cracker swirls and chocolate cookie swirls.

The package features a sketch of Kaepernick with his fist raised, along with the phrase "I know my rights."

Ben & Jerry's has been known to support social causes in the past, with racial justice, democracy, climate justice and LGBT equality included under the "issues we care about" section on its website.

The flavour is set to be on grocery store shelves in early 2021.
