Quarterback Kyler Murray and top receiver DeAndre Hopkins will not play in Week 9 for the Arizona Cardinals against the San Francisco 49ers.

Neither player was able to practice this week as head coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Friday that Murray and Hopkins would be game-time decisions. Colt McCoy will get the start in place of Murray. The team announced the move on Sunday.

With Hopkins out, receivers Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore and Antoine Wesley should see more targets while running backs Chase Edmonds and James Conner will likely see more touches. In eight games this season, Hopkins has 486 yards and seven touchdowns.

Murray has completed 72.6 per cent of his passes for 2,276 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions leading the Cardinals to a 7-1 record and put himself in the MVP conversation.
