Sunday brought it all. We saw massive blowouts and wild comebacks, historic feats and close calls, walk-off OT wins and some absolutely lethal chirps. (Related: If The Wheels on the Bus is stuck in your head, you can thank Kansas City’s P.A. squad for that one.)
Two teams, the Buccaneers and Packers, had opportunities to officially clinch their playoff spots, but while they both did their part with victories over the Bills and Bears respectively, the stars did not align around the league, which means we’ve gone another football Sunday without any post-season tickets punched.
Monday could change that, with the Cardinals eyeing down a win-and-you’re-in situation against the Rams, but for the most part we’re still looking at an incredibly close playoff race — particularly when it comes to the AFC.
The Bills find themselves on the brink after losing to Tampa Bay in overtime, the Browns stay hopeful in the wake of a must-win against Baltimore, the Bengals were unable to pounce on an opportunity against the 49ers… and perhaps one of the biggest winners of the day didn’t even play:
Here’s a snapshot of each of Sunday’s games, according to how things played out on Football Twitter:
Saints 30, Jets 9
Falcons 29, Panthers 21
