The Cleveland Browns will have to find a way to win a tough divisional matchup without Deshaun Watson under centre.
Cleveland's quarterback will miss Sunday's game against Baltimore with a bruised throwing shoulder suffered last week, pushing rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson into his first NFL start against the Ravens.
Watson hurt his shoulder last week on a running play in a 27-3 win over Tennessee. It was his best performance since being acquired in a controversial trade from Houston last year.
Watson was limited in practice this week and was listed as questionable going into the game. Shortly after 10 a.m., he went onto the field at Cleveland Browns Stadium and threw about 10 short passes before shutting down as coach Kevin Stefanski, general manager Andrew Berry and coordinator Alex Van Pelt watched.
The Browns have their bye this week, giving Watson more time to heal. Cleveland hosts San Francisco on Oct. 15.
Thompson-Robinson, a fifth-round pick from UCLA, played well in training camp and in the exhibition season. He performed so well the Browns traded backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs to Arizona for a fifth-round draft pick in 2024.
Coming into Week 4, Deebo Samuel was considered questionable with a rib injury he suffered against the New York Giants but is expected to play, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Here is a roundup of the latest injuries heading into Week 4.
Arizona Cardinals: Wide receiver Marquise Brown was questionable going into the game with a thumb injury but is expected to play against the 49ers, Rapoport reports.
Carolina Panthers: Running back Miles Sanders, who was dealing with a groin injury, is active but starting safety Xavier Woods is out with a hamstring injury.
Dallas Cowboys: The offensive line will get some good news with centre Tyler Biadasz (hamstring) and guard Zack Martin (ankle) expected to play against the Patriots, Rapoport reports. This comes with Tyron Smith sidelined with a knee injury.
Las Vegas Raiders: Quarterback Aidan O’Connell is expected to start against the Chargers with Jimmy Garoppolo out due to a concussion. The Raiders opted to go with their fourth-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft over veteran Brian Hoyer who was expected to start.
New Orleans Saints: Quarterback Derek Carr, who entered Sunday listed as questionable with a sprained throwing shoulder, has been activated for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, raising the likelihood that he would start.
Carr, who signed a four-year, $150 million free-agent contract with New Orleans last offseason, did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but participated in team drills on a limited basis on Friday and was listed then as questionable.
After Carr was hurt on a sack by Green Bay's Rashan Gary in the second half of last week's game, backup QB Jameis Winston took over and completed 10 of 16 passes for 101 yards in the 18-17 loss to Green Bay.
Winston took most of the first-team snaps in practice this week, but Carr held out hope of playing even if he didn't throw much during the week.
Los Angeles Rams: Days after signing a two-year contract extension, tight end Tyler Higbee will play despite dealing with an Achilles injury.
