The Green Bay Packers will remain without one of their top targets for an extended period of time.
The Packers placed wide receiver Jayden Reed on injured reserve due to a neck injury he sustained on Sept. 20, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday.
Reed is out indefinitely, if not for the season, as he continues his recovery, Schefter added.
"God will use the unusual to do the unexpected ... 11 out," Reed posted on his Instagram.
The 26-year-old was carted off after a hard hit to the head on Green Bay's opening drive against the New York Jets and transported to a New Jersey hospital, where he remained overnight for observation.
Reed has four catches for 24 yards this season, and played in just seven games last season after breaking his collarbone. Drafted in the second round in 2023, Reed was productive over his first two NFL seasons, exceeding 700 yards and six touchdowns in each.
Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, and tight end Tucker Kraft could see the ball more often with Reed on the sidelines.
