The Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is officially active for Sunday’s home game against the New England Patriots.
Carolina activated McCaffrey from injured reserve, making him eligible to return to the lineup after missing five games with a hamstring injury. The team wanted to see how McCaffrey did in warmup and would limit his playing time.
The 25-year-old injured his hamstring in the second quarter of a Week 3 against the Houston Texans. Over the last two seasons, he has 18 of 24 games because of injury.
Quarterback Sam Darnold is also active after he was cleared from concussion protocol and working through a shoulder injury.
