The Carolina Panthers are adding another running back to their offence.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Panthers have agreed to terms with Rico Dowdle on a one-year contract worth up to $6.25 million.
Dowdle, 26, spent his first four seasons with the Cowboys and broke out in a huge way last season. In 16 games for Dallas, Dowdle rushed for 1,079 yards and two touchdowns. His previous career high for rushing yards was 361.
He added 249 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver in 2024.
Dowdle, who is a native of Asheville, S.C., should challenge Canadian Chuba Hubbard for starting time with the Panthers next season.
