The New England Patriots have missed the playoffs since 2021 but continue to have reasons to celebrate.
The Patriots announced on Thursday that they will unveil a 12-foot bronze statue of Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium ahead of a pre-season game on Aug. 8 against the Washington Commanders.
The announcement of the statue comes one year to the day after the Patriots inducted Brady into the franchise's Hall of Fame. Part of those celebrations included Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey declaring June 12 to be 'Tom Brady Day' in the state.
Brady left New England with six Super Bowl wins before earning one more in Tampa Bay.
Brady retired in 2022 as the Patriots' leader in several categories, including passing yards (74,571), passing touchdowns (541) and playoff wins (35).
