TreVeyon Henderson shared insight into the illness that kept him out of Week 8.
The New England Patriots running back put out a statement on Friday that he's recently experienced an "unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalization for several days."
Henderson added that he's undergone extensive medical testing and everything has come back "positive and reassuring." However, despite the good tests, the cause of his illness remains without explanation.
The 24-year-old will continue working with specialists and physical therapists to focus on his recovery. The symptoms have affected his strength, coordination and physical functions.
"My health and long-term well-being remain my foremost priorities," Henderson wrote.
Henderson has appeared in six games for the Patriots this season, rushing for 203 yards and one touchdown. In his rookie year in 2025, he ran for 911 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games.
