The Cincinnati Bengals have informed wide receiver Tee Higgins that the team is franchise tagging him, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The tag salary is expected to be $21.8-million, fully guaranteed, Rapoport adds.
Higgins appeared in 12 games with the Bengals in 2023, catching 42 passes for 656 yards and five touchdowns.
The 25-year-old was picked in the second round by Cincinnati in the 2020 draft out of Clemson and has spent all four seasons of his professional career with the Bengals.
In those four seasons, Higgins has racked up 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns on 257 receptions. In the Bengals' post-season runs in 2021 and 2022, the wide out totalled 457 yards and three touchdowns.
