The Denver Broncos are rewarding the reigning AFC Special Teams player of the Week with a new contract.
Kicker Wil Lutz has signed a three-year extension with the team, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Friday.
Lutz helped propel Denver over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with a buzzer-beating field goal. It's the fourth game-winner Lutz has made this season for the ACF-leading Broncos.
The 31-year-old kicker has spent the last three seasons in Denver after playing six in New Orleans. Originally drafted by Sean Payton with the Saints, Lutz was acquired by Denver a few months following Payton's hire.
Since becoming a Bronco, Lutz has converted 88.6 per cent of his field goals, while going 99-for-101 (98 per cent) on extra points. This season,
