The Cleveland Browns' secondary depth took a big hit on Tuesday.
Cleveland lost starting cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. to a torn Achilles, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported.
Emerson was injured during training camp practice and will undergo imaging to determine the severity of the tear.
Players and staff were seen gathering around Emerson before he was carted off the field.
Emerson, 24, was expected to start at cornerback opposite Denzel Ward. Since being drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Emerson has recorded four interceptions and 34 passes defended in 37 starts.
The Browns defence finished last in interceptions last season.
