Tom Brady is expected to retire at the end of the 2022 NFL season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

Brady briefly retired following the 2021 season but ultimately decided to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just 40 days later. Back in July, the 45-year-old told reporters that he's taking a "year-to-year" approach.

During training camp, Brady took an 11-day absence where he reportedly went on vacation in the Bahamas, which was planned with his family earlier in the year, Rapaport said.

"It's all personal. Everyone's got different situations they're dealing with," Brady told reporters after returning to camp. "We all have really unique challenges to our life. I'm 45 years old, man. There's a lot of s--- going on. Just gotta try to figure out life the best you can. It's a continuous process."

Brady is heading into the final season of his contract where he will earn $30 million including a $15 million payment from the signing bonus of his 2021 contract. He received a $13.88 million roster bonus after agreeing to a revised deal in April and will make $1.12 million in base salary.

Once he is done with his playing career, Brady will join Fox Sports as their lead analyst in a deal that is reportedly expected to pay him $375 million over 10 years.

Last season, Brady led the NFL with 5,316 yards and threw 43 touchdowns with the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay opens its season with a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
