Alabama wide receiver John Metchie III (8) catches a pass to score during the fourth overtime of an NCAA college football game to defeat Auburn Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, in Auburn, Ala (Butch Dill/AP).

Canadian receiver John Metchie will not return for a final season at Alabama and will declare for the NFL Draft, according to ESPN's Chris Low.

Metchie had 96 catches for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns before tearing his ACL in the second quarter of the SEC title game win over Georgia. The Brampton, Ont., native had a breakout season in 2020 as a sophomore catching 55 passes for 916 yards to help Alabama clinch a national title.
