One of the top tight ends is off the board.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed David Njoku to a one-year contract worth up to $8 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday.
Njoku, 29, is coming off one of the least productive years of his nine-year career with the Cleveland Browns, tallying just 293 yards and four touchdowns on 33 catches.
The athletic tight end has not left Cleveland since being selected in the first round of the 2017 draft. Over his career, Njoku has totalled 4,062 yards and 34 scores.
Njoku’s best season came in 2023, when he logged career bests in starts (16), catches (81), yards (882) and TDs (six) en route to earning his lone Pro Bowl nod.
Now, he'll look to return to those high-water marks in Los Angeles, where he'll catch passes from Justin Herbert as the likely No. 1 tight end.
