The Miami Dolphins appear to have found their new quarterback.
Malik Willis is heading the South Florida football team on a three-year deal worth $67.5 million, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday. The deal includes $45 million in guarantees.
The news comes shortly after it was announced that Miami plans to release former fifth-overall pick Tua Tagovailoa.
Willis, who’s only made six starts over his career, earned a huge payday after rejuvenating his career behind Jordan Love in Green Bay over the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old went 2-1 as a starter with the Packers, completing 78.7 per cent of his passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns, with an additional 261 yards and three scores on the ground.
This past season, Willis made one start but appeared in four games where he completed an absurd 30 of 35 passes for 422 yards and three TDs.
The last time he threw an interception was during his rookie season in 2022.
