The Philadelphia Eagles will look to snap a losing streak without one of their top defensive players.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter won't play Monday against the Los Angeles Chargers after undergoing a procedure on both shoulders, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Thursday.
Carter, 24, had the surgery with the intention of being fully healthy for the playoffs and will be considered week-to-week, per Schefter.
The Georgia product is in his third year with the Eagles after being selected ninth overall in the 2023 draft.
In 10 games this season, he has 32 tackles, 11 quarterback hits and two sacks.
Carter finished second in defensive player of the year voting in 2023 and made the Pro Bowl last season.
The Eagles, who have lost two straight games but remain atop the NFC East at 8-4, visit the Chargers on Monday Night Football before returning home to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.
