The Philadelphia Eagles will be paying a visit to Washington, D.C., in the near future.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that the Eagles are planning on visiting the White House and U.S. President Donald Trump as part of the annual tradition for the Super Bowl-winning team.
The Eagles have not officially received their invitation, but plan to accept when they do, Schefter added.
There were some false reports over the weekend that the Eagles planned to reject the invitation.
When the Eagles last won the Super Bowl in 2018 during Trump's first presidency, the President pulled their invitation after a large majority of players said they would not show up because of Trump's stance that players stand during the national anthem.
During that season, many players kneeled during the anthem to protest racism and police brutality. Trump suggested that any player who kneeled should not be playing and "maybe shouldn't be in the country."
The 2018 Eagles were not the only team to decline an invitation from Trump during his first stint in office, as the 2016-17 Golden State Warriors and the 2018 Seattle Storm also declined.
