Von Miller has found his next landing spot.
The eight-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker is signing with the Washington Commanders, per multiple reports on Wednesday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it will be a one-year contract, but the two sides are still finalizing the terms of the deal.
Miller last played for the Buffalo Bills in 2024, logging six sacks and seven tackles for loss in 13 games, none of which he started. The 36-year-old was waived by Buffalo in March, ending his time with the Bills after three seasons.
The three-time All-Pro player was originally drafted second overall in 2011 by the Denver Broncos, spending the first 10.5 years of his NFL career in the Mile High City. Miller would leave the franchise via trade in 2021 after helping Denver to a Super Bowl in 2015 (winning Super Bowl 50 MVP) and ending up first all-time for the Broncos in total sacks (110.5).
Miller was dealt to the Los Angeles Rams, whom he also helped win a title with their Super Bowl LVI victory in 2021.
Through 186 regular-season games split between the Broncos, Rams and Bills, Miller has totalled 129.5 sacks (16th all-time), 171 TFLs and 27 forced fumbles.
However, Miller's availability and production have dwindled as of late. After playing in at least 15 games in nine of his first 11 NFL seasons, the veteran linebacker has failed to reach that mark in each of the last three years with Buffalo. Miller has also not been a starter for the Bills for two consecutive seasons.
Meanwhile, his four absences in 2024 came via suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Now he joins a Commanders team primed to make noise in the NFC after a surprise appearance in the conference championship game last season following a 12-5 season.
Washington has been plenty busy in the off-season, making moves like acquiring one-time All-Pro receiver Deebo Samuel and signing five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil on offence. And on the defensive side, Miller now joins notable additions like defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and cornerback Trey Amos.
