It would appear a 14th season is very much a possibility for veteran tight end Travis Kelce.
According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Kelce is "motivated to return to play" next season and the Kansas City Chiefs "remain very much in the mix" to re-sign the 36-year-old.
Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft out of the University of Cincinnati.
He's played his entire career in Kansas City and has been instrumental in the three Super Bowl championships the Chiefs have won in the Patrick Mahomes era.
A seven-time All-Pro, including four times as a first-team selection, Kelce ranks among the greatest tight ends to ever play in the NFL, holding multiple records including career post-season receptions (174), career post-season receiving touchdowns by a tight end (20), career post-season receiving yards by a tight end (2,039), receiving yards in a season by a tight end (1,416) and more.
Last season with the Chiefs was among his least productive since he was made a full-time starter midway through the 2014 season. He amassed 851 yards on 76 receptions with five going for touchdowns as he played all 17 games for a Chiefs team that failed to make the playoffs for the first time since Kelce's sophomore season.
