Detroit Lions outside linebacker Romeo Okwara is out for the season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The standout pass rusher suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. He left the game and was later ruled out after rushing Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Okwara signed a three-year, $39 million contract extension with the Lions on March 17. Playing in his sixth NFL season, the 26-year-old has 145 tackles (90 of them solo) with 21 sacks in 71 games played.
