The Super Bowl finalists may soon have a new No. 1 target.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown is tracking to be traded to the New England Patriots from the Philadelphia Eagles on or after June 1, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday.
By waiting for June, Brown's $40 million salary cap hit would be split between this season and next.
Still, "all the elements remain in place to make (the trade) happen," per Schefter.
Brown, 28, has compiled at least 1,000 receiving yards in six of his seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans and Eagles. However, he barely eclipsed the mark last season, with 1,003 yards, 78 catches and seven touchdowns over 15 games.
The Patriots released former top receiver Stefon Diggs in March, leaving their pass-catching options thin for star quarterback Drake Maye.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, had a stout tandem with Brown and Devonta Smith before adding receivers Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore and Dontayvion Wicks this off-season.
Meanwhile, Eagles GM Howie Roseman is "plotting" for a more immediate trade during this week's draft, with one target being Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, per Schefter.
One massive deal has already taken place ahead of the draft, with the Cincinnati Bengals sending the 10th overall pick to the New York Giants for star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence on Sunday.
