The New England Patriots are down a running back.
TreVeyon Henderson is expected to miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday.
Henderson sustained the injury during Sunday's 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The second-year back was off to a solid start to his sophomore season, toting the ball 42 times for 163 yards and one touchdown through four games while tacking on 22 receiving yards.
In his absence, Rhamondre Stevenson will step into the lead role for the Patriots, who have won two straight games to climb above .500 at 3-2.
New England returns to action Sunday against the New York Jets before a short turnaround for a Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.
