The New England Patriots are trading offence for defence.
Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is heading from the Patriots to the Houston Texans in a trade for safety Jaylen Reed and a draft pick, The Ringer's Tom Pelissero reported on Monday.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the pick is a seventh-rounder in 2028.
Boutte, 24, hauled in 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns for the AFC champion Patriots last season, his third in the NFL.
Over 34 games since being selected in the sixth round of the 2023 draft, Boutte has registered 78 catches for 1,159 yards and nine scores.
Reed, 23, appeared in seven games during his rookie season with the Texans last season, recording nine tackles and a fumble recovery.
