The Las Vegas Raiders will be on the lookout for a new quarterback.
The Raiders plan to release QB Geno Smith unless they're able to find a trade before the start of the new league year, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday.
Should the Raiders release Smith, they'll open up $8 million in cap space while taking on $18.5 million in dead money.
Smith, 35, was unable to live up to expectations in his lone year with the Raiders. In 15 starts, he finished with a 2-13 record while throwing for 3,025 yards with 19 touchdowns and a league-high 17 interceptions.
The 12-year NFL vet signed a two-year, $75 million deal last off-season after a few impressive seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
"Let's see what the next 6 years has to offer," Smith posted on X after the report surfaced. "God is REAL."
The Raiders, after finishing a league-worst 3-14 record, are set to select first at the NFL Draft in April, with the chance to select consensus top QB Fernando Mendoza from Indiana University.
