They might be playing in a different city, but Amari Cooper is headed back to the team where it all began.
The veteran wide receiver has signed a one-year deal to join the Las Vegas Raiders, the team that drafted him fourth overall in 2015, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Cooper has spent the last few seasons bouncing around the league, splitting time in 2024 between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills.
He picked up a career-low 547 receiving yards on 44 receptions last season, along with two touchdowns. He also had six receptions for 41 yards and one touchdown in three playoff games with the Bills.
A five-time Pro Bowler who earned a nod as recently as 2023, Cooper has broken the 1,000-yard threshold in seven of his 10 NFL seasons.
Originally selected by the Oakland Raiders out of Alabama, Cooper spent the first three seasons of his career in the Bay Area before being dealt to the Dallas Cowboys midway through his fourth season. He earned three Pro Bowl nods in those first four years.
He'll now join a Raiders team looking to upgrade its wide receiver room to help out veteran QB Geno Smith. Seventh-year wideout Jakobi Meyers is currently listed as the team's WR1 after he put up his first 1,000-yard season last year.
