It appears as though Dez Bryant will see NFL action for the first time since 2017 on Sunday.
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, who was elevated to the team’s 53-man roster earlier Saturday, is expected to play against the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 31-year-old was signed to the Ravens practice squad on Oct. 27. The Cowboys’ franchise leader in touchdown receptions with 73, Bryant had 69 catches and 838 yards in 2017, his final season in Dallas. The Cowboys cut Bryant that off-season, and he signed with the New Orleans Saints in November 2018 before an Achilles injury ended his comeback attempt.
The Ravens passing game ranks 31st in the NFL heading into Week 9 action, and could desperately use a boost from a veteran receiver with the experience of a player like Bryant. Whether he’ll be able to bring that to a team with Super Bowl aspirations after more than two full seasons away from the game remains to be seen.
