Russini is reporting that not only have the teams been in discussion, but Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has also reached out and had conversations of his own with Jones about teaming up.
Should the two teams come to a deal, Jones would join a loaded receiving core in Seattle, as current Seahawks receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both topped the 1,000-yard mark last season.
The Falcons have been rumoured to be shopping the 32-year-old receiver all offseason, and signs Jones time in Atlantad was coming to a close was all but confirmed Monday on FS1‘s Undisputed.
“I’m out of there, man,” Jones told Sharpe and Bayless, saying his priority is to join a winning team. It’s unclear whether he knew he was live on air when Sharpe called him on his phone during a segment.
NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport reported that Jones did request a trade from the Falcons and the team agreed to listen to offers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said Atlanta is looking for a first-round draft pick in return for the 32-year-old receiver.
This is why Julio Jones told Shannon Sharpe he’s “out of there.” Because he knows he requested a trade and the team is open to considering it. But it doesn’t mean he will get traded. https://t.co/2F0aFeSr5o
