The defending Super Bowl champs are spending big to keep their core around.
Defensive tackle Leonard Williams has signed a three-year, $90-million extension to stay with the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.
Williams, 32, has continued to elevate his game late into his career, earning his first All-Pro Second Team selection last season after tallying 62 combined tackles, seven sacks, nine tackles for loss and 22 QB hits.
Drafted by the New York Jets sixth overall in 2015, the USC product has 61.5 sacks over the course of his 11-year NFL career. He has three Pro Bowl selections in that time, with one coming in his second season and twice more in the last two years.
The Seahawks acquired Williams in a trade with the New York Giants midway through the 2023 season, and the lineman has upped his production since joining the defensive juggernaut, tallying 22 sacks over his two-and-a-half seasons in Seattle.
Along with Williams, the Seahawks have handed out major extensions to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (four years, $168.6 million), cornerback Devon Witherspoon (four years, $132 million) and outside linebacker Derick Hall (three years, $42 million).
