The New Orleans Saints are bringing back Mark Ingram after making a trade for the veteran running back with the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

In return, the Texans are expected to receive a late-round draft pick, Pelissero reports.

Ingram has averaged a career-low 3.2 yards per carry with the Texans this season, recording 294 yards on 92 carries. The 31-year-old now has a chance to become the Saints' all-time leading rusher, needing just 90 yards on the ground.

The Saints drafted Ingram in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He left New Orleans after eight seasons to sign a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, who waived Ingram after two seasons. He would then sign a deal with Houston.

Alvin Kamara expressed his excitement to have Ingram back reuniting a strong one-two punch in the Saints' backfield.

On the other side, Houston Brandin Cooks expressed his disappointment with the trade on his Twitter account.

"This is (expletive)," Cooks wrote. "Such a joke."
