After opening the season on a 5-0 straight-up run, the Seattle Seahawks have emerged as one of the fast rising teams on the Super Bowl odds, where they now join the favourites as a +650 wager at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Pegged at a lengthy +1600 on the odds to win Super Bowl 55 entering the campaign, the Seahawks have exceeded expectations thanks largely to the play of Russell Wilson. The Seattle QB has maintained a torrid pace, connecting on an NFL-leading 19 touchdown passes over the team's first five outings, lifting him to even money on the NFL MVP odds.

The Seahawks have also regularly rewarded bettors by covering the spread in four of their five wins to date. However, Seattle faces a tough stretch of schedule following this week's bye that includes dates with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks also face a challenge in overcoming recent playoff disappointment, failing to advance past Divisional Playoff weekend in each of their past four postseason appearances.

Other teams making significant gains on the Super Bowl 55 odds at online betting sites include the undefeated Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans. A lengthy +2200 wager entering Week 1, the Packers have built their 4-0 SU record on a league-leading offence that has averaged 38.0 points per game, and have been rewarded with vastly improved +800 betting futures.

Currently sporting a narrow lead on the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns in the AFC North, the Steelers have vaulted from +2500 to +1200 on the Super Bowl odds during their 4-0 SU start. The Titans have managed to stay undefeated despite being beleaguered by an outbreak of COVID-19, and have rocketed from +3300 to +1600.

Conversely, things have gone from bad to worse for the Dallas Cowboys and the 49ers. Set at +1500 on those NFL odds entering the season, the Cowboys have stumbled to a 2-3 SU start. Now faced with the loss of quarterback Dak Prescott to a serious ankle injury, Dallas has lost substantial ground on the NFL futures where they have dipped to +3500.

Fresh off their first Super Bowl appearance in eight years, the 49ers find themselves at risk of falling out of playoff contention after going 2-3 SU through the first five weeks. That is reflected in their Super Bowl odds, which have tumbled from +1000 to +4000.

The defending champion Chiefs continue to lead the way as +400 betting chalk, just ahead of the Ravens at +500. The New Orleans Saints have held steady at +1100, followed by the Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who join Tennessee at +1600, and the Rams who now sit at +1800.
