Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill is inactive for the team's Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the club announced Sunday.
Rookie Malik Willis will get the start in Tannehill's place, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Tannehill was listed as a game-time decision going into the contest.
The 34-year-old sprained his right ankle in a win Oct. 23 over the Indianapolis Colts and left the stadium that day in a walking boot. He missed last week’s 17-10 win against the Houston Texans, snapping the 11-year veteran's 49-game start streak for Tennessee.
Tannehill was questionable a week ago before being ruled out ahead of Tennessee's flight to Houston where Willis got his first NFL start.
The Titans are riding a five-game win streak and sit atop the AFC East division.
