The Minnesota Vikings have lost another key player to injury.
Running back Jordan Mason has been placed on injured reserve with a thumb injury, head coach Kevin O'Connell announced on Wednesday.
Mason is now the second Vikings player to get injured coming out of their Week 1 win against the Green Bay Packers, after quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a concussion in the first quarter.
Aaron Jones will now look to handle the majority of the load in the upcoming weeks.
Jones rushed 12 times for 40 yards on Sunday, while Mason rushed 15 times for 59 yards. They both had touchdowns.
In a corresponding move, Minnesota signed DeeJay Dallas to the 53-man roster and has signed Jerome Ford to the practice squad.
Mason is eligible to return on October 25.
