Free-agent forward Alex Galchenyuk has signed a two-year deal with SKA Saint Petersburg, the KHL announced on social media Friday.

Galchenyuk, 29, was released by the Arizona Coyotes in mid-July, less than two weeks after signing with that club in free agency. His release was due to an arrest in Arizona. A police report said Galchenyuk was erratic and aggressive toward officers after apparently crashing a car into a sign.

Galchenyuk later apologized for his actions and said he would be entering the NHL/NHLPA Assistance Program.

Galchenyuk has 354 points in 654 NHL games.
