2021 NHL Draft Lottery Blog: Sabres get the first pick, Kraken second

Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams talked about the team's NHL draft lottery win and how excited he is to make a big impact on the team at the draft.

The 2021 NHL Draft Lottery went down Wednesday night, as the top two picks were up for grabs.

There wasn't a ton of movement in the order, but a deserving team certainly won. The Buffalo Sabres will pick first overall for the second time in four years as they hope it puts them back on track towards their first playoff berth since 2011. But there's still much work to do.

The Seattle Kraken were also big winners, moving from the third spot to the second overall pick and will start their franchise history off with a chance to land a real impact player.
