Alexander Wennberg is staying in San Jose.
The pending unrestricted free agent agreed to a three-year, $18-million extension with the Sharks, the team announced on Sunday.
Wennberg has enjoyed a solid one-and-a-half seasons since signing with the Sharks in the 2024 off-season, posting a total of 17 goals and 44 assists in 118 games.
The 31-year-old forward is among San Jose's leading point-getters this year, as his 19 helpers rank second on the team and his 23 points are third-most.
Since entering the league in 2013 as a first-round pick, Wennberg skated in 830 games between the Sharks, Panthers, Kraken, Blue Jackets and Rangers. He's logged 396 points (108 goals, 288 assists), and added another 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 58 post-season matches.
Wennberg was named to Sweden's roster for the upcoming Milano Cortina Olympics on Friday.
