The Nazem Kadri watch continued with the latest news that the Colorado Avalanche centre was able to skate for the second day in a row with a stick in his hands.

Kadri was injured in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final when he was taken into the boards by the Oilers' Evander Kane, injuring his right thumb. The injury required surgery, which Kadri is now attempting to recover from in time to rejoin his team in pursuit of the Stanley Cup.

Colorado leads the Final 1-0 against the defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Game 2 is Saturday night at 8 p.m. on Sportsnet.

Fellow forward Andrew Cogliano took a puck to the right hand in Colorado’s series clincher against Edmonton in the Western Conference final and has also not played since. He was on the ice Friday and could be seen stick-handling and shooting the puck.
