The Colorado Avalanche and restricted free agent Andre Burakovsky have agreed to a two-year deal, the team announced Saturday.
Burakovksy, who posted career-best totals in goals (20), assists (25) and points (45) in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season, will be eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2022.
“Signing Andre was a priority for us this offseason. He has been a great addition to our team and was a big part of our success this season,” Avalanche GM Joe Sakic said in a team statement. “He’s a very skilled player who brings speed and scoring to our lineup, and we’re excited to have him under contract for two more years.”
The 2013 first-round pick was traded to the Avalanche in the summer of 2019 after spending his first five seasons with the Washington Capitals.
