Alex Gagne is joining the Colorado Avalanche organization.
The New Hampshire defenceman signed a two-year entry-level contract with the team, it announced on Monday.
Gagne, 23, was a sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021.
He proceeded to spend four season at the University of New Hampshire, where he scored a career-high four goals and added 13 assists during his senior campaign in 2024-25.
The Bedford, N.H., native also served as the Wildcats' captain last season.
The six-foot-five, 225-pound blue liner previously spent two years prior in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Muskegon Lumberjacks.
