The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Alex Barre-Boulet to a one-year contract on Friday.
Barre-Boulet appeared in two games with the Montreal Canadiens this past season. He spent most of the year with their AHL affiliate in Laval, recording 63 points (22 goals and 41 assists) in 64 games.
The 28-year-old from Montmagny, Que., also contributed 11 points (three goals and eight assists) in 13 games during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Barre-Boulet signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
He has 18 points (12 goals and six assists) in 70 career games with the Lightning, Seattle Kraken and Canadiens.
