Avalanche's Kadri has thumb surgery following hit from Oilers' Kane

Colorado Avalanche centre Nazem Kadri had surgery on Monday for a thumb injury he sustained from a hit by Evander Kane in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Final, Sportsnet can confirm.

The team has not yet ruled Kadri out from a post-season return, but it is not confirmed that the 31-year-old will be able to play for the remainder of Colorado's playoff run.

Kadri has tallied six goals and eights assists for 14 points in 13 games this postseason, including one goal and three assists through three games against Edmonton.

Colorado leads Edmonton 3-0 and has a chance to sweep the Oilers and punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals tonight, available to watch at 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT on Sportsnet.
