Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon out for approximately three weeks

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon will be out for around three weeks with a lower-body injury.

MacKinnon suffered the injury on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and missed practice on Tuesday as a result.

In eight games with the Avalanche this season, MacKinnon has one goal and nine assists.

Colorado (4-5-1) faces the Vancouver Canucks (5-6-2) on Thursday night.
