Lost in the Colorado Avalanche's thrilling 8-6 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final was goaltender Darcy Kuemper's status.
Having had a night to sleep on it, though, Kuemper's outlook is no clearer for coach Jared Bednar.
"I don't know how long he'll be out," Bednar said on Altitude Sports Radio on Wednesday. "He could be back tomorrow for us."
Kuemper left Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury with 12:41 left in the second period and was replaced by backup Pavel Francouz. Kuemper allowed three goals on 16 shots before he exited. Francouz conceded three goals on 21 shots.
"Darcy was playing and battling and didn't say a lot," Bednar said of Kuemper's play. "Obviously we were scoring and playing well, but he was having a little trouble as the game went on, so probably not his best performance early in the game for circumstances I won't get into."
Game 2 in Denver goes Thursday night, which you can watch live on Sportsnet at 8 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. MT.
