Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has cleared NHL COVID-19 protocols and will be available to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team announced.

Toews was added to the protocol on Tuesday and was forced to miss practice with the team.

Patrick Kane, Jujhar Khaira, Ryan Carpenter, Riley Stillman and Erik Gustafsson have all missed time dating back to the weekend due to COVID-19 protocol.

Assistant coaches Tomas Mitell and Marc Crawford have as well.

The Blackhawks are 100 per cent vaccinated against the virus.
